In the Parke-Bernet Libertine Literature sale on April 27th 1971 (lot no. 191) a copy of An Oxford Thesis on Love ('Taos, New Mexico,' 1938) was described by the compiler of the catalogue, Mr. J. B. Rund, as follows: '4to. FIRST EDITION. Mimeographed on 122 leaves, rectos only. Coloured frontispiece and 12 mounted photographs. The first novel in the "Oxford Professor" series, attributed to Lupton Wilkinson by Gershon Legman, who along with Robert Sewall, wrote later additions to the series. These were originally commissioned as private typescripts and not intended for publication.' Another modern reprint of these two volumes is before me: published in 1971 at New York by Grove Press in their 'Venus Library' series. They are entitled An Oxford Thesis on Love, reverting to the title of the original 1938 edition, and The Oxford Professor Returns.
