Tear

A tear is a drop of clear, salty liquid secreted by the lachrymal gland of the eye. A tear lubricates the surface between the eyeball and eyelid. Tears are a profusion of this liquid spilling from the eyes and wetting the cheeks, especially in an expression of intense emotion such as happiness, sadness or pain. But tears can also appear independent from emotion, by irritant substances such as the vapors of freshly cut onion.

The act of shedding tears is the start of crying or weeping.

Tears and spanking
