A spanking postcard is a postcard with spanking art on it - usually a spanking drawing (realistic, cartoon or caricature) or a spanking photo. Starting in the late-19th Century, a number of the notorious "French postcards" of the era depicted erotic spanking, birching, whipping and caning of women, usually in a domestic or classroom setting.

Spanking postcards range from political satire and humor to erotic postcards.

Collections of vintage spanking art postcards are still occasionally available on flea markets and auction websites such as eBay.
