Laziness is the lack of diligence to perform work or expend effort. The corresponding adjective is lazy.

Laziness is considered by some Christians to be one of the seven deadly sins, though it is called sloth (Latin: accidia, pigritia) on the list. Acedia is a Latin word, from Greek akedia, literally meaning "absence of caring".

In some philosophies, laziness is a virtue, but in general, laziness is considered a bad trait, and children may get reproved and/or punished for laziness at home or in school.

Slacking

To slack means to procrastinate, to be lazy, or to refuse or dislike exerting effort. A person who is found to slack is called a slacker.
