Spanking after spanking (for lack of an established term) refers to any scenario in which a person is spanked twice or more times on the same day.

These scenarios can happen in real-life nonconsensual disciplinary spanking, they can be acted out in consensual adult spanking, and they often appear in spanking stories, spanking comics, spanking videos, and similar art forms.

Definitions

This article covers a wide range of scenarios. The two (or more) spankings can be short or long, light or hard, using different implements, positions, locations, states of (un)dress, etc. There can be mere seconds or hours between the first and the second spanking. They can be given by the same or a different spanker, for the same or for a different offense. Only the following three criteria must be fulfilled:

1. It must be the same spankee.
2. The spankings must be separate enough to count as two (or more) spankings, and not as one spanking that is just continued.
3. The two (or more) spankings must be on the same day, or between two sleep cycles if the "day" criterion is too arbitrarily defined (such as around midnight).

Example scenarios

• Someone has committed an offense, is spanked for it, then soon after commits another offense (either of the same, or a different kind), and is spanked again for that.
• Someone has committed two offenses in more or less the same act. They get a spanking for offense 1, and then—possibly unexpected, as a plot device—their punishment is not over because they then get another spanking for offense 2.
• Someone has committed an offense against two people. They both want to chastise the offender—perhaps to vent their anger, perhaps to "repay" whatever was done to them personally. So after the first person has finished spanking the offender (possibly while the other gets to watch), the second takes over (possibly while the first is watching).
• A student gets spanked for some offense at school, and then again by a parent after they get home. This is a form of the more general "punished at school, punished again at home" scenario that often appears in spanking videos.
• Two people equal in authority, for example two parents, make it a point—or perhaps even a routine—to each give the offender a spanking. They might do so e.g., to both communicate their dissatisfaction, to emphasize their equal responsibility in disciplinary matters, and/or avoid one being the "bad guy" and the other the "good guy".
• A disciplinarian employs the technique to give the offender a (typically brisk, short) on-the-spot spanking, and then later (at a better suitable location, when there is more time to do it properly), another, perhaps lengthier, spanking. And/or perhaps a bedtime spanking to refresh the message just before the day is over (video example: Failed Forgery Bedtime Spanking (Delco Video Productions).

Technical notes

The second spanking can hurt more because the buttocks will already be sore from the first spanking. For the same reason injuries (such as broken skin) are at higher risk to happen in the second spanking.

However, suppose the two spankings are given shortly after another. In that case, the second spanking can also hurt less, if the reddened buttocks are numbed from the first spanking and if the spankee is still in an endorphin rush, which in BDSM is called 'subspace', characterized by insensibility to pain.

Sometimes, a first spanking is deliberately given lightly as a warm-up spanking to prepare the spankee for the second spanking, which will be the main and harder spanking.

Sometimes two spankings are given deliberately with some time in between—a quarter of an hour, one hour, or several hours. This can give the spankee's buttocks a break to recover ("cool down"), although it is insufficient time for the body to repair any damage the skin or tissue may have suffered. Such a break will destroy the above-mentioned insensibility effect, and this can be intentional in increasing the punishment. To make the spankee's lot even worse, the time between the two spankings can be filled with some other punishment, for example a time-out, writing lines, detention, grounding, chores, or preparation for the next spanking.

Viewpoints

From the disciplinarian's point of view, there can be different aspects that make them decide for it, see the example scenarios above.

From the spankee's point of view, two spankings for the same offense are often seen as dreadful and unfair ("double jeopardy"), while two spankings for two different offenses, although they come with the same physical suffering, might be somewhat more acceptable. A lot depends on how well the spanker(s) can communicate the reasons for the two spankings.
