Spanking for Pleasure is a British spanking video producer whose name is often abbreviated to SFP or SfP. Created by Jardale Publishing in Brighton around 1989, it rapidly grew into one of the leading British studios of the 1990s and early 2000s, despite not achieving a corresponding level of brand recognition. The company eventually became the owner/distributer of numerous smaller companies such as Paradox, Tallion, Playback, Vexfilm, 1st Choice, Spanking College, Classic Spanking, et al.

Style and content

Focusing on the corporal punishment of young women by men and other women, Spanking for Pleasure’s plotlines usually follow the classic sequence of hand spanking, tawsing or strapping, and then caning. Traditional scenarios involving schoolgirls, maids, nurses, and secretaries are not neglected, but the studio broadened its range of workplace settings to include stories about naval cadets, soldiers, ballerinas, stable girls, dentists, hairdressers, car mechanics, pop singers, prostitutes, estate agents, pole dancers, television presenters, waitresses, nuns, bar maids, shop assistants, et al.

By avoiding the extremes of severity on the one hand and jokiness on the other, the productions adopted a tone that broadly resembles that of Fessée, later second-series Janus, and Februs, magazines in which several of its actors appeared as models. A number of spanker roles are played by Christian Fennington, and a great many more by Michael Dawes, apparently the central figure in the business.

Brand image and distribution

Despite producing many original titles, the studio lacked a distinct identity due to its distribution of numerous incorporated brands (Tallion, Vexfilm, Raincoat Productions, Playback, Paradox, etc.). In addition, SfP films were distributed in the USA by California Star which often changed the titles and names of the actors. Despite SfP's importance in the history of British spanking cinema, there is much confusion associated with the company's filmography and image (as opposed to the catalogues of contemporary producers such as Kane, Red Stripe, and Strictly English).

After many dormant years, Spanking for Pleasure released a new film, Confession, in 2017 to mark the launch of its own website. This gave way in 2020 to Spankflix, a streaming service that offers Spanking for Pleasure titles alongside those of Paradox and Red Stripe.
