Bawling is crying very loudly and unrestrainedly, crying at the top of one's voice. It is a way of crying typically associated with children.

Bawling in spanking art

Naturally, a child is likely to start bawling when it is being spanked, especially when the spanking is of longer duration, hard, or both. Bawling is often found in spanking literature, but surprisingly rarely in visual spanking art, except for spanking in comics such as The Katzenjammer Kids. Two spanking artists who relatively often draw bawling spankees include Jay Em.

Bawling is perhaps even more seldom in spanking videos. Adults tend not to cry as easily as children, and even a faked bawling would likely to be more disturbing than erotic for most of the target audience. Bawling is designed by nature to hit a nerve.
