Attachment ring

An attachment ring, in BDSM, is a circular metal ring that is fastened by one side to something else.

Its function is similar to that of a D-ring, but while the flat part of a D-ring is normally covered and only the curved part is visible, an attachment ring is visible in its entire roundness. Another difference is that a D-ring is by its nature of attachment only movable around its flat side axis (typically in the direction of the strap, forward-backward), whereas an attachment ring can be attached such that it is movable in any direction, e.g. up-down.

An attachment ring is often found in the front of a BDSM collar.
