A piano bench is a short bench without a back, used for one or two piano players to sit on. Modern piano benches can sometimes be adjusted in height to accommodate both adults and children.
Use for spanking
A piano bench can also be used as spanking furniture for positioning the spankee in a well-suited spanking position, if these four requirements are fulfilled:
- 19 to 20 inches high
- Hard padding
- 30 inches long x 14 inches wide (duet size)
- Lift-up compartment for storage of spanking implements
Suitable spanking positions include:
- the bent-over-object position
- the elevated kneeling position
Spanking literature
The piano bench is used in several underground spanking novels from the Victorian and Edwardian era. Most notably in The Way of a Man with a Maid (ca. 1908) by an anonymous author. The main character has a special punishment room he calls "The Snuggery" disguised as a pleasant sitting room. Among the many hidden bondage contraptions is a specially designed piano bench with wrist and ankle restraints. It is also situated on a motorized platform that can be raised upward at the flick of a switch.
