"News List" defined:

A "bulletin board" used by people to pass messages back forth, using the Internet as a medium.

These lists may be private or public.

These lists may be moderated or unmoderated.

It is up to the individual member to decide if the message is meant for them

You are on line, and question are answer, by default, in real time.

Messages are being sent in real time. Going back to yesterdays mail may be cumbersome
