Poser is a 3D rendering and animation program that specializes on the modeling of the human body.

Poser was originally created by artist and programmer Larry Weinberg in 1995 as a software replacement for artist's mannequins. Version 1.0 and 2.0 were published by Fractal Design, which merged with MetaTools in 1997 to form MetaCreations. MetaCreations sold Poser to Curious Labs in 1999, which publishes it since then. The current version (as of 2005) is 6.0.
