Consensual spanking

Consensual spanking is spanking that takes place with the full and free consent of all involved parties, in particular both the spanker and the spankee.

Consensual spanking includes the categories:

• erotic spanking,
• fun spanking,
• sensation play.

Spanking as a type of BDSM play is usually always consensual (see also the safe, sane and consensual credo).

Nonconsensual spanking on the other hand, include:

• military corporal punishment,
• judicial corporal punishment,
• prison corporal punishment,
• domestic violence,
• spanking of children for punishment (i.e. excluding games and things such as birthday spanking)
• school corporal punishment.

Disciplinary spanking can in some cases be consensual (e.g. in domestic discipline) but will usually be nonconsensual.
