Bob Zak

Bob Zak (born Robert Zahurak) was the founder, primary producer and occasional film director and screen writer of "Gwen Media Los Angeles", one of the most successful fetish film production companies. Zak died of heart failure in June 2005.

WhiplashUSA

Zak originally developed the Gwen Media film company with noted fetish writer and director John Fitzgerald as an outgrowth of Zak's fetish clothing business WhiplashUSA. Zak was known to promote his WhiplashUSA fashions to many in the BDSM subculture before he actually developed the Gwen Media film company. However, WhiplashUSA was not successful as a long term business. Some say that it was because of WhiplashUSA's failure as a viable business that Gwen Media could be created.

Indeed, it is Zak's first successful promotion of his full body latex form-fitting costuming with Eve Ellis entitled "Red Hot Rubber" where her in-camera character is shown to be happy receiving a full body latex costuming as a birthday present including full head hood, full length gloves, thigh high en point boots, ball gag, and nylon rope that showcases the later successful formulae of the model's complete onscreen enclosure and personal bondage that would become the staple of Zak's Gwen Media films.

WhiplashUSA was revived when Zak's Gwen Media film business proved to be successful. Many of its costumes and products were included in Zak's Gwen Media films.

WhiplashUSA's existing stock of latex costuming and products were sold off to JT Stockroom when the company was wound up after Zak died.
