The AVN Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE) is a trade show held each January in Las Vegas, Nevada, and is sponsored by the Adult Video News Magazine (AVN). The AVN Awards show is held during the Expo at the nearby The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino. The Expo is the largest pornography industry trade show in the United States. The 2007 Avn Expo had over 30,000 attendees, included 355 exhibiting companies.

In the past, The Expo is held at the Sands Expo and Convention Center concurrent with the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), although there is no connection between the two. The Expo mixes industry only events with open hours for fans seeking the usual autographs, pictures, and memorabilia.

The dates for the 2021 Adult Entertainment Expo is scheduled for January 29-23. The First two days of the show are considered 'Trade Only'. (As a bit of irony, this event is held at the Virgin Hotel in Las Vegas.) During these times only people in the adult industry can gain access to the show. The night of the last day of the show are the AVN Awards.

One of the major aspects of the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo is that most of the major adult entertainment stars appear and sign autographs for fans.

The 1998 Expo and Awards were the subject of David Foster Wallace's article "Neither Adult nor Entertainment," published in Premiere (magazine) and later reprinted and extended as "Big Red Son," the first essay of his collection Consider the Lobster.

The Expo is the largest adult industry event worldwide and has recently been expanded to encompass four days.

A Personal Note from Robin

I try to attend AVN (which is held in Las Vegas) the same week as the CES show.

In 2000, I attended CES and I visited the booth of a company which produced "Genie" remote actuators. As part of their advertising campaign, they had Barbara Eden (of "I Dream of Jeannie" fame) as their spokesperson and they had drawings for several "presents". I was lucky enough to win what they thought was their "Grand Prize": a beautiful, velour reversable jacket. I think the jacket was second place award because along with the jacket I got a kiss on the cheek from Barbara Eden!
