Visual art

The visual arts are a class of art forms that are primarily visual in nature. These include, but are not limited to, drawing, painting, sculpture and photography. An artwork which is primarily visual in nature is called a work of visual art.

The visual arts are distinguished from the performing arts, language arts, and other classes. It should be noted, however, that the definition is not strict, and many artistic disciplines involve aspects of the visual arts as well as other types.
