The term Taken In Hand (abbreviated TIH) is sometimes used to refer to a person in a relationship with a Head of Household (HOH). The TIH accepts the HOH's leadership while the HOH serves the TIH whom he leads.

Taken In Hand is also the name of a British website that popularized the Taken in Hand relationship, in which the HOH is the male partner of a monogamous heterosexual relationship and the Taken In Hand is his wife.
