Choreophilia is sexual arousal from dance (Greek khoreia, dance).

According to an old aphorism, dance is "the vertical expression of a horizontal desire legalised by music."

This quote is attributed to George Bernard Shaw by George Melly in an article on the twist and discotheques, New Statesman, 23 March 1962.
