Bondage positions Bondage is about opportunity, motive and what do you have at hand. (Yes, it does sound like we are analyzing a crime scene, doesn't it? )
A lot of what makes bondage work is the "playground" and what is available. Take an inventory of the space to see what is in it: chairs, beds, trees, or nothing at all. (I actually teach a class entitled: "You forgot your Toy Bag, now what? "
Use your imagination: does there happen to be an engine hoist available? <Grin>
The next part is the, "What position should I use? " Look at your victim (Sorry, volunteer <g>) and take a physical inventory. Not everyone can bend, squat, sit or stand like everyone else.
Besides the usual, recognizable forms (seated, standing, kneeling, etc.), here are some specific positions:
- Asymmetric bondage
- Bondage positions are designed to create a feeling of being off-balance.
- Ball tie
- tying into a ball with the knees pressed against the chest, the ankles against the buttocks, and the arms behind the back or against the shins
- Bottom bondage
- Tying up the buttocks for a fetishistic appeal or for spanking
- Box tie
- tying the arms across and behind the back, wrist to elbow
- Breast bondage
- various ways to tie up breasts
- Chair bondage
- A person is seated in a chair and then feet are tied to chair legs with hands bound behind their back or behind their head.
- Crotch rope
- a rope encircles the waist to create a belt, and then rope(s) passes between the legs to form a "pair of panties "
- Elbow bondage
- The elbows tied together behind the back - might be touching
- Frogtie or 'en craupadine' (French for toad)
- the person has their hands bound behind their back, their legs are crossed and bound across their chest or behind their neck
- G-string tie
- Instructions with diagrams
- Gorean "slave " positions "
- Positions of a slave as defined by John Norman's Gorean Chronicles
- Hair bondage
- fixing ropes to the hair and using them to fix the head in a fixed position
- Hammerlock
- the arm is held bent against the back, the hand forced upwards towards the neck, thereby applying pressure to the shoulder joint.
- Head bondage
- encasing or immobilizing the head, (also see Hair Bondage)
- Hogtie
- A person's wrists are tied (usually crossed) behind their back, and then tied to their ankles, also behind their back.
- Mummification
- Also see the article of Saran Wrap for FAQ and methodology
- Over-arm tie
- Wrists are bound together, then brought over the head and tied to the waist
- Predicament bondage
- A person is bound in such a way that they are forced to decide between two equally painful positions
- Pretzel hogtie
- (also see Hogtie
- Reverse Prayer
- the wrists are bound behind the back and then raised toward the neck so that it looks like the person is in a praying position.
- Savage Fold
- also known as lotus fold (made famous by bondage photographer John Savage
- Shibari
- A series of ties: Karada (body harness); Sukaranbo (crotch rope); Shinju (breast harness) (see article for more positions)
- Spread eagle
- A person is tied with extremities pointed to the four corners of the compass. Can be tied standing or if laying down, either face-up (supine) or face down (prone).
- Strappado
- an extreme bondage position wherein the bottom has arms bound behind the back and then raised toward the ceiling, causing them to forward at the waist. (Caution: can cause Positional asphyxia)
- Suspension bondage
- A person is tied so that their body weight is off the floor. (see article for more positions)
A Personal Note from Robin
- I'll be adding more descriptions and photos in the near future!
