Darlex, sometimes sold under the trade name Darlexx, is a material similar to Spandex, but made to be much thicker and hence more constricting and more opaque. This is done by sandwiching a very thin layer of rubber between two sheets of Spandex.

Darlex is thus ideal for a range of fetish and bondage garments, such as hobble skirts, cloth straitjackets and hoods.

It is manufactured by Shawmut Corporation. A leading manufacturer of fetish clothing made from Darlex is Fetishwear.net.

(Safety warning: with hoods, breathing holes are advisable due to the thickness of the material.)
