Librairie du Temple (translated: "Temple Library") was a French publisher of spanking novels in Paris, active from 1908 to 1911. Librairie du Temple was located in rue du Temple, hence the name.
Many of their spanking novels were written by Jean de Virgans and Henri Gaultier de Saint-Amand, and were later reissued by Librairie Franco-Anglaise.
There is also a modern (Jewish?) bookshop in Paris by the name Librairie Du Temple, probably unrelated.
Selected works
- Corrections féminines by Jean de Virgans (1908)
- Maître et Esclave by Jean de Virgans (1908)
- Esclaves Modernes by Jean de Virgans (1910)
- La Flagellation mystique (reedition of Historia flagellantium (1700) by abbé Jacques Boileau, 1910)
