The studio of Tony Beltrand (1890). Eugène Déte is seated in the middle.

Eugène Déte (1848-1922) was a French engraver and illustrator.

He was mainly known for mainstream book illustrations and landscape art, but also illustrated at least one spanking novel, Étude sur la flagellation à travers le monde by Jean de Villiot, published by Charles Carrington in 1899.
