Latex fetish is a subculture of rubber fetishism. The major difference is the specific desire for latex rather than other forms of rubber.
Latex clothing comes in two distinct types: molded latex and cut and glued latex.
Moulded Latex
Items are made by a process of dipping a former into liquid latex and then curing the latex by a process called vulcanization.
The items that result tend to have a dull finish and can have uneven thickness and weak spots caused by small air pockets in the item.
Cut and Glued Latex
Items made by this method use a latex sheet which is produced by a continuous casting process. The rolling of the raw material between highly polished rollers gives the highly polished surface associated with Latex rubber sheeting.
