ZFX Productions, Inc. is a producer of hardcore horror/fantasy BDSM fetish videos. Based in Orlando, Florida, the company was founded in 1991 by Rick Masters. He writes, directs, produces, and sometimes performs on camera.
ZFX films mostly portray violent M/F abduction scenarios with occasional F/F content. They draw inspiration from low-budget supernatural shockers, science fiction, and horror movies, particularly the slasher and serial killer genres. Time and again, innocent women are abducted by psychotic perverts or ghoulish fiends and dragged to a dank basement or warehouse lair where they are bound, whipped, spanked, tortured, and sodomized.
Simulated sex and violence
ZFX is one of the few BDSM producers that dares to feature violent sexual content in their stories. However, the sex scenes (most likely to avoid legal complications) are all simulated with the male actors using lifelike rubber dildos. Much of the torture is also created using trick camera shots, special props, and even computer generated effects. On the other hand, the bondage, spanking and full-body whipping scenes are quite real and sometimes severe. Each film comes with a long series of warnings and disclaimers which emphasize that these films are "meant merely to satisfy adult fantasy and not to encourage duplication by the viewer".
The production standards are quite high for films in this genre. Great care has been put into the editing, music, and special effects to create an effective, sometimes disturbing, illusion. Many ZFX titles have been expanded into a multi-volume series as indicated in the list below.
