Thickness

Thickness of latex sheeting and latex clothing is an important consideration. Thicker clothing will be stronger and less likely to tear. However, it will stretch less easily and so be more difficult to put on and take off, and will not cling so well. Well made clothing will have a uniform thickness; areas that are very thin may tear more easily and may also be more transparent, creating a non-uniform effect.

Medical gloves are very thin, typically about 0.0087"-0.011" or 0.22-0.28mm. Catsuits are typically 0.018" or 0.45mm, but thicker ones are available, especially for those into heavy rubber.

Straitjackets are 0.02"-0.03" or 0.5-0.8mm; thicker ones should be more escape-proof.

Corsets have to be significantly thicker, possibly 3mm, or they will be too stretchy.
