The original caption to this 1943 photo reads: "All over the Warner Brothers movie lot and sound stages can be seen glass jars and placards to assist in collecting money to send gifts to the Warner employees serving in the Armed Forces. All monies received are used to buy cigarettes, candy, fountain pens, warm clothes, etc. The response around the lot has been very generous. On the set of Thank Your Lucky Stars, John Garfield, star of Air Force, and starlets Sylvia Opert (left) and June Early, look over the packages that will soon be sent overseas."
