Robert and George Briffaut. - "Assets in 1908, they are the creators of the Bibliothèque des Curieux (En: Library of Curious) . It has several collections including The Masters of Love and The Bibliophile's cabinet. There are published in this collection of old classic erotica in a redacted version (with notes or introductions of Guillaume Apollinaire , of Jean Hervez or Bagneux Villeneuve alias Raoul Vèze , Jean Cabanel alias Jean Texcier to Fernand Fleuret , of Louis Perceau ), or studies of eroticism through the ages and chronic libertines. Their publishing house L'edition is located at 4, rue de Furstenberg, Paris 6th.

After the death of Robert, 1927, one still finds mention Georges Briffant, editor, at the same address, but when, in 1950, George moved to 86 Boulevard Raspail where he has only restricted activity, it substitutes the section the Livre du Bibliophile {en: Book of Bibliophile) than Bibliothèque des Curieux.

In 1913 their advertising in the trade directory indicates: special library of books on eighteenth century; rare and curious books; Amateur editions; Franco catalog on request. Illegal activity Briffaut brothers had its heyday between 1909 and 1914. List of printers who worked with Briffaut brothers Vanmansar the presses; the Orléanaise printing; printing L. clot and son in Rennes; Ste printing. Catherine, St. Pierre dock in Bruges; printing Vve Félix Guy & Cie in Alencon; printing R. Bussiere in Saint-Amand; printing Arrault and Co. Tours; printing Coulouma (H. Bartholomew Director) in Argenteuil (in the 1930s); Typographical Union in Villeneuve St. Georges (in the 1950s). Sometimes the cover and the text books out of different presses. Most of these printers have also worked for Charles Carrington , Jean Fort , P. Brenet , etc.
