Riding the horse refers to a method of punishment for a male or female submissive. A "Wooden Pony" is either beam suspended from the ceiling or a sawhorse with a pointed (but not sharp) beam.

The sub is made to stand with one leg on each side of the device with genitals resting on the beam, which is too high for their feet to be flat on the ground to support their weight. Time becomes the enemy because eventually their legs tire and they must shift their weight. This can provide an incentive to develop endurance in the calf and leg muscles in a graceful way since a loss of strength or of balance results in pain.
