Monique Fuentes is a Colombian-born pornographic actress and photographic model.
Biography
Much of what is known about Monique comes from an interview she gave to Luke Ford while on the set of "I Dream of Chaisey" (sic), which also features the eponymous Chasey Lain and Cherokee.
Using information from that interview and from the videos and website postings that feature Monique, here is what is known about her life and career pre and post her brief time as a porn actress
Pre-porn life and career
Her [1] most commonly posted birth date is July 29, 1975, which would make her about 33 years old in 2008. However, [2] other published birth dates have her real age as closer to 40. She has at least 1 child, a daughter who was born in 2001, although in one website interview (during her scene in Mommy Loves Cock) she says she has 2 children. Based on the Luke Ford interview, she is engaged to, married, or was engaged to a man using the name Jorge.
Before immigrating to America, Monique lived in Colombia with another man who fathered her child and who, per the Ford interview, paid for her breast augmentation. It is not clear if Monique worked as a model while living in Colombia or was a stay-at-home mom. The Ford interview suggests she was completely supported by her Colombian partner/husband, but a video interview with Ron Jeremy in the scene she did for Adult Associate suggests she professionally modeled when she was in Colombia.
Monique began her non-porn modeling career in the United States under the name [3], possibly her real name. Shortly after or just before entering porn, she changed her name to Monica Fuentes, and shortly after that, to Monique Fuentes. (It may be that there was a name conflict with the character named Monica Fuentes in the movie [4] "2 Fast 2 Furious" played by Eva Mendes that required this name change.) During this period she did some photographic work modeling activewear such as swimsuits and erotic modeling where she would be in sexy clothes such as lingerie or nude but these stopped short of pornography because they did not involve hardcore sexual content (e.g., intercourse).
Entry into porn
Her short (to date) career in American porn came about at the suggestion of her fiance after the public response to her initial posting for modeling work on an Internet site in October 2003. According to Monique (in the Ford interview) within days after she posted her picture and ad on the Internet for non-porn modeling, she received over 100 emails suggesting she consider acting in porn because of her sexy, erotic looks. After considering the career change for some months, she opted to add porn acting to her modeling portfolio. Monique says in the Ford interview that she told her parents about her decision to enter porn and was worried about their reaction because they are somewhat conservative. However, they supported her decision saying they trusted her judgment.
She started her porn career with an online ad at [5] World Modeling. Shortly thereafter, she switched to and was briefly featured on the LA Direct modeling website. (She no longer appears on either site.)
Judging from her [6] iafd filmography, her first appearances in porn videos and on websites occurred in September 2004 and lasted through about April 2005. During this time, she was featured in at least 15 direct to video/DVD releases and 15 website appearances. In most of these appearances she plays a hot Latina (an obvious role) and/or a MILF. Her two scenes for the porn production company Naughty America typify and illustrate both of these type roles: My Naughty Latin Maid (sexy Latina) and Latin Adultery (MILF).
Retirement from porn
As of about April 2005, Monique has not appeared in any new videos although compilation DVDs of her various past website appearances and movies continue to be released. She apparently retired from porn after a relatively short career that spanned less than 7 months.
In March 2007, she was spotted in a [7] shopping mall in the Miami areawhere she apparently continues to live out of the public spotlight with her family. Her ad on [8] One Model Place is still online but has been updated infrequently. The last update was August 27, 2007 but involved only the removal of a single picture. The last substantive update that included new pictures was over one year earlier – July 16, 2006. She no longer lists adult modeling (i.e., porn) under availability although she continues to advertise as available for erotic and artistic nude modeling.
Possible Return
On July 2, 2008, a new modeling advertisement for Monique was posted on the Type 9 Models website, an Internet-based modeling agency for porn actors and actresses. The ad indicates her availability for acting in porn movies. To date, no new videos or website scenes have yet been released.
Galilea Montijo flap
In May 2007, Monique's name inadvertently resurfaced in a big way on the Internet due to a bad case of mistaken identity. An Internet surfer, seeing Monique in a scene from one of her movies (posted clips reveal the video in question to be Monique's scene with Justin Slayer in Mami Culo Grande) mistook her for the well-known and popular Mexican soap opera star Galilea Montijo. This led to the rapid spread of rumors that an x-rated tape of Galilea had surfaced on the Internet showing her having sex before becoming famous as a soap opera star. This assertion was picked up and amplified by bloggers who reposted the x-rated videos on various sites. Eventually, [9] more careful analysis by some revealed that it was not Galilea Montijo at all but Monique Fuentes appearing in the videotapes in question. Still, the flap reached the point and the rumors were so persistent, that Ms. Montijo continues to be compelled to [10] issue denials when asked about the video. This to be shown that Monique Fuentes had a striking resemblance to Galilea Montijo in the video.
