Melody's Stories

I absolutely love these stories. There's just one problem: they're almost too good. Melody means well and tries so hard (well, most of the time :-), and often I'm rooting for her not to be spanked. I sometimes identify with her so strongly that I just want her to be loved and cuddled, not spanked.

Melody's Stories is a science fiction spanking novel by Lurking Dragon, first published in 1997. It is a controversial but also much admired work of girl spanking literature. Sixty-three Chapters have been published so far by Lurking Dragon, not including one guest chapter approved by him. Several other stories have been written by other authors using Lurking Dragon's setting, called the Rejuve Universe including Pint-Sized Engineer.

Synopsis

For this series, Lurking Dragon invented a fictitious future world known as the Rejuve Universe. In this world, a technology named rejuvenation is common. This technology can transform any person's physical body into that of a child. It allows people to live theoretically forever.

"It is the 28th century. Rejuvenation is common, and is used not only to extend life but as a punishment for criminal behavior. Melody is a fifty year old woman who was convicted of embezzlement. She was sentenced to three cycles from 6 to 12 years old. Like all convicted criminals, she is spending her first cycle(s) in the custody of 'spanko' parents, who are authorized, even encouraged to spank her as often as possible, as well as as often as she deserves..."

The novel begins when Melody wakes up as a 6-year-old Penitatas and is given to her new parents Mary and Josh.

Melody Johnson

Formerly Melody Marston, a Penitatas (3x6-12).

Mary Johnson

Melody's current mother.

Josh Johnson

Melody's current father.

Janie Smythe

Formerly James Platsburk, a Penitatas (8x4-8) and Melody's rival.

Ellie Miller

Ellie is a medicalos cryogenically frozen from the 20^th century, Melody's best friend.

Johnny Devine

Formerly Commander John Devine, a medicalos and Melody's love interest.

Controversy

Not long after the series was released, it began to draw considerable complaints "flack" from many people; most likely due to the severe nature of the content and the essentially hellish existence of the protagonist at times. One particular issue that keeps gaining attention is that Melody (the main character) has no choice as to the constant spanking she receives in the stories. A considerable amount of the spinoffs involve morality based on this. See: Kayla Stories.

Many people make false claims against the Melody series, claiming they are "... close to a form of state sanctioned rape." or "... essentially the equivienge of state sanctioned flogging." This is a large argument that many misleaded individual have picked up on AnimeOTK itself. A number of misguided souls have made a fuss towards the Jade Chan Adventures; and yet that was defended by the staff. Moreover, when the same argument was made for Melody's stories, a moderator was quoted as saying "... rejuve stories are not spanking stories"
