Janus Rainer

I've heard her called Janus Rainer, Janus Rennie, Janet Griner, and Janus Griner. When I decided to become a professional Mistress, 1975, one of the first places I put an ad in a publication was the Detroit Hustler.

which was sold at bookstores, bars, restaurants. And the two NATIONAL publications were Aggressive Gals and Dominatrix Domain a Matriarch Publication. I saw in several publications ads for Janus's sister Connie Griner, ad taken from Fetish Times No. 22.

Originally a 5 1/2 X 4 1/2 booklet, Issue 11 shown above. My ad first appeared in Ouch magazine issue 5 or 6?? Janus had called me and wanted me to do an interview and come to NYC. So I made arrangements to fly to New York and Richie Shore picked me up, at the time they partners. I think that was the first time I met Richie also? That evening I was to met The Grand Matriarch herself a title given to Belle de Jour in her early career. And these titles were all self proclaimed NO ONE gave a title or passed down a title or bestowed a title like you hear some say. And in the early days you would pick a name that no one had, I choose Mistress Michelle. One of the first covers my name appeared on it said Mistress Michael and inside it said Mistress Michele with one L. LOL, people could-not spell. I saw on the Tom Snyder show, that was a show that came on at midnight, a play of sorts called, A Different Way of Loving?" Something like that? Well I was met Janus there.

Aha, it was called, "Another Way to Love." This was proclaimed as one of your first public type plays about B&D, S&M! So before the show started we huddled on the floor on these pillows trying to warm up because it was only 10 above 0 when we went to the show. It was a VERY cold night in NYC. Richie told me to go in the back room and that's when I met a beautiful heavy set woman, Janus Rainer. We had quite a talk. Then later Magda Sade a famous Mistress of the late 60's, early 70's was to do dance. She called it dance of the seven veils? I didn't think it was all that great, it got raving reviews. So after Magda's dance and after act one of the play, a gentleman who was dressed in Leather approached me and we got to talking, he introduced me to his slave mary, and his two friends, Master Jack and his slave girl. His name was Master Doug. Master Jack's slave was Vi, and blond girl, and you would know him as Jack Jackson, President of TES. I think that's how I ended up at one of the TES meetings later that week? Master Doug and Master Jack have both passed away. So I left NYC almost a week later, I haven't talked to Richie in a few years, I still hear from Janus from time to time. My first TES meeting was in 1975. There I met Jack Jackson, who I remained friends with until his death, Belle de Jour and Julie Sherman. Other TES members who were friends of mine were, Dave and D Rosen, Jay and Dianne Hartwell, Bob and Wilma Best. I'll never forget my first meeting, I had a great time. I was very enthused when I found TES-TALK, the Yahoo group this last year ( 2004 ). But instead being welcomed with open arms, I have found this group of people to be rude and very unfriendly. Of course, its not every member and not all members who post, but I have found this to be true concerning some members, and even some of the board members. THE EULENSPIEGEL SOCIETY IS ...

Eulenspiegel, the Society for those with an interest in S/M sex, meets on Monday from 7 to about 9:30 P.M. on the second floor of 37 Ninth Avenue, just south of 14th Street, in New York City. A socializing period with refreshments available from 7 to 7:30 is followed by the presentation and dissuasion of some topic having to with S/M or dominant/submissive sex. Then, a socializing break of 15 to 20 minutes takes place. We conclude the evening by forming a circle in which those who wish may introduce themselves by first name, say as much or as little as they want about themselves, their mystiques, etc. General discussion follows in which we try to answer questions that any, particularly newcomers, may have.

My introduction into Eulenspiegel was brought about in a very unusual manner. I was seeking some new and, for me, unusual sexual experiences. I was given Eulenspiegel`s name and address and, when I went there for the first time and found out what Eulenspiegel represented, my first thoughts were to get the Hell out as fast as possible..

Since I was there already, I sat and listened. Some things were shocking to me, but then I saw that the people weren't monsters, blood was not dripping on the floor, and there was a very liberal and refreshing exchange of ideas and thought. At the half-way mark where we sat in the circle, I listened to and I took part in the discussion, quite naturally and normally expressing ideas that I never thought I would be able to in a group of people that I hadn't been sexually intimate with. I related personal incidents of the most intimate nature with ease and comfort,

Eulenspiegel has enabled me to realize things I had never spoken about before to anyone. I have since become a member and have tried to live out some of my fantasies.

The Eulenspiegel Society is a not-for-profit corporation which began as an informal association in the winter of `71. We support sexual liberation as a basic requirement of a truly free society. 3. The right freely to communicate and socialize with others of similar sexual orientation, and to explore together the deeper, positive meaning of our experiences.

4. The right to challenge established value systems which oppress by condemning and repressing sexual drives or practices of erotic minorities.

5. The right to publicize, activities and views -- freely, without fear of occupational or professional repercussion -- thereby raising the consciousness of both public and ourselves regarding sexual minorities and sexual freedom.

To realize these rights, we seek to foster consciousness raising and understanding among our members and the public at large through public forums and workshops on S/M, advertising, dissemination of Society publications and literature, by providing speakers for all forms of media, colleges and other audiences, and by giving support to other sexual liberation movements..

Most of all, we extend to our sisters and brothers who may be, as we once were, isolated, repressed and frustrated, the word that they are not alone, that a Society exists for them - - Straight, Gay and Bi-sexual all working together with understanding and warmth, against misunderstanding and stereotypes for freeborn and fulfillment.

General Background...

I was born in Albany, New York on December 1, 1946, making me 49 years old. I am 6 ft, 160 pounds, 30 inch waist, trim, swimmer's build, lots of dark hair that is salt and pepper on top. I have a beard and mustache, dark brown eyes. I have a Masters Degree in Business Administration. Jerry ( Jeri ) Deming

Jerry Deming has done so much for the community. One person's today that put B&D on the map. I doubt B&D would be around to the degree it is if not for him.

In 1963, I picked up a Centurian Catalog of Bondage equipment. I had never seen anything like it before! All kinds of stuff. In the early years there wasn't that much in the catalog but it looked like as lot when your a newbie. Around 1968, Jerry started to let a few people place a small add into the catalog. Barbara Behr seeing this started Aggressive Gals magazine. That was the start of adds in magazines.

By the early 70's Jerry's catalog sales flourished and he opened a large store in Westminster, Ca. In 1976 I walked into that store and bought my first pair of high heels and in 1977 purchased my first pair of boots, that I still have today! I didn't meet Jerry in person till I did the video, The Piercing of Jamie. Jerry and I would set in his office and shoot the bull.

The Piercing of Jamie..... It was back to California to do a video for Lenny Burton, Eros productions through Jennifer Jordan Publishing . I received a phone call from Lenny asking me to do video. He wanted to know how much I wanted., I said nothing. Well, what do you want?? I said, plenty of adds, and lots of publicity. well it ended up in hustler magazine with horrible reviews. So I sent a doctored photo of me cutting a slaves dick off, I told them the next I get a bad review, I was personally coming down and doing that to them.After that the video sold like hot cakes and the photo of slave ended in the Magazine to.!! It was distributed by Bizarre Video, owned by Jerry Deming Centurians moved from Westminster to Garden Grove, Ca in the early 80's and the name was changed to Spartacus-Centurian. And remained there until the mid 90's when it was moved to Reno. NV. Along the way Jerry published many magazines and the most famous being Bizarre. A great magazine.

Jerry still lives in Reno, still has Centurian and many websites. We still talk today and remain good friends. Mistress Michelle
