The more things change, the more they stay the same. A recent AM Los Angeles program featured a certain nationally known dominatrix, one Mistress Mickey. There she sat, tall and imposing, a figure from the B&D underground boosting the "sweeps month" ratings of yet another straight TV show. This writer suffered an immediate case of deja vu; the famous whip-lady had been paraded out on talk shows going back into the 70s. When in doubt—and when the ratings can use a lift—call on Mistress Mickey. For over a decade now, she has been a star of the sexual underworld, prominent in newspaper and magazine erotic as well as radio and TV. 1 recall interviewing and photographing her in the summer of 1974, when she was a 22-year-old dominatrix at the now-defunct School of Dominance on Hollywood's Melrose Avenue. She had been in the business only a couple of months, but it was already clear that she would become a major figure in the arena of S&M.

Mickey sparkled. Here was a lovely young brunette, curvaceous and sexy, who seemed to combine the wholesomeness of a California Girl with the wild wickedness of a woman of dominance. As a free-lance magazine writer taking his first plunge into the previously hidden world of B&D, I had anticipated the "Big Bertha" type of dominatrix, a burly middle-aged creature with the look and temperament of a Teutonic diva. What a pleasant surprise. Several small ads in the popular L.A. weekly, the Free Press, were leading me from one commercial dungeon to another, from one dominant dame to the next. The School of Dominance stopped me in my tracks. Not that it was the most impressive of the whip houses; far from it. A place called the House of Dominance had established itself as niimero uno, with room after room filled with awesome devices of torment and a staff of lovelies well trained as either dominants or submissives. The English Palace was not far behind, with its whipping stools, St. Andrew's cross and walls painted to suggest Medieval stone.

The School of Dominance, on the other hand, had an unfinished look. The small store front boasted a large pink sign proclaiming Participating Center of Fantasy

Fulfillment and promising "Sexy Girls" in "Private Rooms." A tiny School of Dominance sign seemed an afterthought. Inside, a cavernous dungeon room had plain walls dotted with a modest selection of whips, paddles and shackles, along with a simple, carpeted bondage platform.

What the School had that others lacked was a superstar—Mistress Mickey (known then as Judy; she opted for the use of her real name when she decided to go for the national spotlight). When this writer first laid eyes on the voluptuous babe, she wasn't wearing much more than most women wear to bed on their wedding night. She was very much the focus of attention in the small office at the School, clad in purple panties with fine white pin strips, garter belt with nylons, high heels and a lace trimmed black chemise that parted in front with every movement of her nubile body. I was interviewing her, along with Mike, the owner of the place, and his hefty male assistant Bakati. "You have to be aggressive and dominant," she explained. "You overpower men. It's not something you can be trained in.

A girl can't pretend she's dominating. I got started when a boyfriend told me about this job—he's a friend of Mike's—but I'd never done it in my personal life. I've been aggressive and wrestled around with several boy-friends, but I never took a whip to anybody till I came to work here, started doing this as a profession."

Pride in her attainments as a dominatrix , was evident in her every word. She explained how the owner, a masochist himself, had dreamed of a place like this for I like-minded men, but had no model on ivhich to pattern it. Feeling his way, he'd set up the Fantasy Fulfillment thing as a front. Mickey detailed the development of the place, how she'd found equipment and learned what bondage was all about from the customers themselves. At that time, S&M houses were just going public on the Coast, and the School was among the first. She had been footloose, a party girl dreaming vaguely of stardom, then latched onto dominance by chance, where she found herself. She had discovered her calling. "A lot of these guys use me for a psychiatrist," she said. "I'm a therapist to them. They'll sit and tell me their life story. Some of them start crying. I tell them to call me once or twice a week, even if they just want to say hello; that's all right. I had a guy come in here who couldn't get it off for three years. He trifed dominance to see if it would help him. There are a lot of lonely people around. They just want someone to talk to. I'll start a session and they'll say, 'Well, I guess I'm not really into it. I just like to talk.' I'll sit down and just talk to them for the rest of the time."

Not that she couldn't handle the heavy sessions, even at that early stage of her career. Mickey delighted in describing some of her kinkier clients.

"Some of these guys have such stories, it's unbelievable. One of them told me he'd had a mistress—she took off for New York on him, and that's why he came here and found me—but she'd put him through so many things it's unbelievable. She would make him go down on her dog, suck him off. And she would'make him jack off and come in his own mouth. I said, 'Really? I'd like to see that.' I tied him to the bondage platform on his back and pulled his legs up high. Then I ordered him to do it. He did. He came right in his mouth, and I said, 'Now eat it, slave.' And he ate it. So I said, 'How did it taste?' He said, 'Well, if you liked it.' I laughed. I said, 'I sure did.' He was a trip."

And the customers who were into heavy pain.

"See these little birthday candles," she said, as she showed me through the dungeon. "I stick 'em in the hole of their penis.

I light, and it bums. Those are the guys into penis torture, as they call it. I've had 'em coming in requesting to have pins stuck in their penises. 1 had a guy here with this scar right across his balls, and I asked him what that was, and he said this girl he was going with just about got his balls all cut off, was going to utterly cut them clean off. So he said I could torture his cock as much as I wanted. I could pull it up, tie it up, hang it up. When I dripped wax on it, he just came." She emphasized her words with a snap of the fingers. "The idea is to do these things safely, not to go too far. I had a man come in and ask me if I would cut 'em open. I won't do that. I won't go to extremes." She discussed bondage. "Bondage is the most popular of these things. Lots of people do it in the privacy of their own homes, and it's just now beginning to be recognized. Sort of an in thing to do. It's not harmful unless you tie somebody up so tight that they had marks.

Some bondage people are into it so heavy that they just want to have two little tubes out the nose to breathe, you know,, like rubber freaks; they want to be covered in rubber, have their whole body covered like pictures you see in magazines sometimes, the whole body a mass of rubber with just two little tubes coming out the nose. It's a feeling of helplessness they crave."

How well I remember Mistress Mickey demonstrating a little bondage there in the School of Dominance.

She led Bakati, the husky bodyguard, into the main room, ordered him to remove his shirt and then tied him kneeling over the bondage platform. She donned a black eye-mask and allowed me to photograph her as she lashed the man's back with a cat o'-nine. (All the males at the School, owner and rotating crew of security guys, were into some form of B&D or other.) I was impressed with the mix of sensitivity for her slave and pleasure as the. power she held over him that Mickey evidenced in that impromptu session. She used his whimpering to limit the. pain he received from both his bonds and her lashes, dishing out as much as he needed without crossing the line snto giving him more than he could take.

(She later explained that they had a set of signals she'd devised; when he cried "yellow," she'd slow down. At "red" she'd stop. This allowed her slave the enjoyment of much crying out and pleading.) The next time this writer's path crossed that of Mistress Mickey, she had moved on the English Palace.

She'd had a falling out with Mike — due in part to his favoring a dominatrix with whom he maintained a relationship — but I sensed also that she wanted to step up to a more famous dungeon. The reputation of the English Palace was spreading nationwide, and the match-up of house and dominatrix seemed a natural. I snapped a couple of pictures of her there (which she later used in her own ad). Sensuous in a leopard-spot chemise and knee-high boots, she was seated on a bondage table with one of Mistress Sadie's bullwhips firmly in hand. Mickey seemed to have grown in confidence and power, though I missed the old girlish innocence, now gone. She'd been toughened by the turmoil at the. School and taught a great deal about systematic Bondage & Discipline at the Palace, but her youthful enthusiasm seemed to be changing into a harder determination: Mistress Mickey was going to be the best, the most famous, the champ.

Perhaps it was that very ambition that brought her to a parting of the ways with the proprietors of the Palace, for it wasn't long after her arrival there that the tall, dominant gal was on her way. Another spat, more jealousy among girls working in the place, and Mistress Mickey was on her own. Working out of her apartment at first, then creating her unique Fantasy Dungeon in Hollywood, she was determined to make her way to the top. No one could employ her; she would be her own boss. I conducted a series of interviews and photo session during this period in her career. Some great shots came out of a session she allowed me to witness in her apartment, when she dealt out some heavy discipline with a rider's crop at the. expense of a naked slave. She had him bowing before an image of herself that she'd created by adorning a mannequin head with wig, headdress and black leather eye mask. Her whips, belts, handcuffs, ropes and other paraphernalia hung from every wall, transforming an unfurnished living room into a dungeon. Candlelight provided eerie atmosphere, and a big brass bed — used for bondage — made the boudoir a part of her S&M facility.

When she finally set up her own commercial dungeon, the new place became legendary. Mirror squares alternated with red carpet squares, checkerboard fashion, to cover the ceilings of several rooms. Red carpet soundproofed the walls and added to the otherwordly effect. A couple of slaves, one a cabinetmaker and the other an engineer, had designed and constructed several pieces of unique equipment. A stretching rack dominated one room. During one photo session there, I recall watching her pull a long wooden lever and turn a nearly naked slave on his head. She had shown me the motor, hidden in a closet behind the wall. A parachute harness held the poor bloke rigidly to the X-shaped contraption as it spun him about.

From interview notes I made during this period, Mickey's evolving philosophy of dominance and the role of the mistress emerges.

"The dominatrix brings a man's dominance fantasies to life," she said. "She needs sensitivity, skill, a knowledge of how to use the equipment properly. You not only have to know how much pain to inflict on a masochist, you have to know when to stop. You should be into yourself. My clients look up to me, but 1 don't look down on them, because I know that some heavy dudes are into this. They're men with a lot going for them, attorneys, men who own their own businesses and such. They come here with the confidence that 1 won't laugh at them for what they're into. "Many of my clients are transvestites. I understand them, treat them as human beings with feelings. Some of them tell me that they're unable to explain what they're into to their wives or girlfriends. They're afraid that they'd be ridiculed.

Because I deal with TVs all the time, they know I won't laugh at them, the fact that they love to dress up. Also, a girlfriend could ruin their reputation by talking about it; I know how to keep a confidence. I have a lot of fun dressing these guys up, showing them how to walk in high heels, teaching them makeup techniques.

"These men aren't necessarily sissies, you know. Same with men into bondage. In fact, I find that most of them are either big shots in business or pretty tough guys, blue collar workers who pride themselves on their macho, tough-guy image. Some of them like to prove how much they can take. A man who lacks self-confidence may not be willing to acknowledge some kinkiness in himself; the successful man or the guy who's respected for toughness by his peers feels more comfortable about coming here and admitting a need to be dominated. "A lot of submissives in the dungeon are bosses at work. I think they feel guilty about ordering people around all day. They come here to be ordered around. A man who has a lot of responsibility at work all day comes to me to be put in bondage, to give up responsibility, to be helpless. When you're bound, you can't act; the demands on you disappear. "B&D can work as therapy. When done right, professionally, it's harmless and should be brought out into the open. That's one of the things I intend to do. My goal is to have dominance become completely legal. I'm going to be the biggest, baddest mistress, not only in L.A., but in the country. I'm going to be on talk shows, do interviews, write a book. I plan a nightclub act, using my slaves, men who have a fantasy of being dominated and humiliated in public. Things like that will help to bring it out into the open."

She did indeed go public. It was shortly thereafter that Mistress Mickey cropped up in Penthouse Forum, Adam and the L.A. Star. Her motorized cross was mentioned in the pages of Playboy. She was interviewed for a local radio show, then went on to TV. After warm-ups on local television programs such as Midmorning L.A. and the daring experiment Tabloid, she got a spot on Tom Snyder's Tomorrow show, nationwide on NBC.

In that memorable appearance, she demonstrated the wooden stocks in which she put her slaves (after the host wisely refused to play submissive.and allow himself to be clapped into them), showed off the huge live tarantula with which she terrorized bound slaves and did her best to make B&D respectable. But not all of Mickey's plans worked out. Juggling her appearances with the demands of her active private life sometimes made it difficult to look after the dungeon.

In time, she decided to work out of someone else' dungeon again. The Leather Castle was a thriving little place in the San Fernando Valley section of L.A., and the owner there made her an offer she couldn't refuse. As an independent contractor, she brought in her own clientele and conducted her business in the well appointed facility. It was there that I did my best photography of the justly celebrated mistress. For my lens, she dominated a slave in a variety of positions: prone to a leather- covered bondage table, hands fixed to a spreader bar pulled toward the ceiling by a winch and tortured by the now-famous spider. She showed off some of her other acquisitions, new equipment such as a full sized ball-and-chain of impressive weight. She was an imposing sight, fetching in white bra and panties, towering on her sequined platform shoes.

It was there also that I saw Mistress Mickey ply her trade for the last time. Not long after she left the Leather Castle, I lost track of her. I heard that she was practicing in Nevada, but didn't know where. Several years passed, and I almost forgot about the whip-gal who had been so cock-sure of herself and her position in her profession, so deeply committed to B&D and so strongly determined to bring it all out into the open and establish herself once and for all as the top gun in the trade. Then—AM Los Angeles. Mistress Mickey on television again! It was just like old times.

What does the veteran dominant have to say these days? Why, she's still every bit as devoted to Bondage and Discipline as ever, just as self-confident and sensitive, every bit the old pro. "After working at a number of commercial places," she says, "I find that I prefer working alone. When I was inexperienced, it was okay for a time to work in other people's dungeons, but having gotten to know my clientele as well as I have, I find that a more private arrangement works better for both of us. A man who's into bondage can go to a commercial dungeon and pick a girl off a lineup, but he'd be better off knowing who he's going to. He might find himself persuaded to try things he's really not into. He may not be able to get his private fantasies fulfilled. I always try to fulfill a client's fantasy when I worked at a dungeon, but I couldn't always get tuned in to the man I was working with. To be happy within myself, I have to really get into my work, rather than just do a rush job. I want to really get into helping these people with their fantasies. Sometimes, in a commercial place, they wouldn't have time to just sit and rap after a session, or before a session, and they might be left with an empty feeling. The owner might rush 'em out, you know, saying 'Your time is up.' My goal is to satisfy every client, to make them feel that every session was ful-filling. And that's why they always come back."

Cruel! Bitchy! Vicious! Merciless!

Only in Los Angeles would you believe an ad for an "Air-Conditioned Medieval Dungeon."

That is exactly where Mistress Sadie and Master Charles maintain their renowned dungeon. It'sa one-of-a-kind place . . . at least, since the Tower of London shut down.

A walk down the rear stairs of a bookstore-massage parlor takes you into the perfect atmosphere for B&D delights. The outer room, painted to recreate ancient stone masonry, sets the tone, and the medieval weaponry on the walls heighten the effect. The inner dungeon is roomy, subtly lit and scary, replete with the torture table, whipping stool, and pullied hoist of a proper chamber of horrors. Besides an outsized St. Christopher's cross, the dungeon features an "X"-shaped St. Anthony's on which you can be strapped right side up, upside down or any which way. Whips, straps, chains, canes and all manner of implements of pain and restraint line the walls of this unusually .well-equipped facility.

Of course, it's the personality of the dominatrix more than the paraphernalia that makes or breaks a house of B&D, and this is the dungeon's strong suit.

"Bewitching Sadie," her reputation fast-spreading from L.A. to New York, boasts the ability to appraise a client on the spot, fulfill his every fantasy, satisfy his every craving.

Out front she's as charming as any suburban housewife (which she is), but in the dungeon ... a holy terror! She knows the importance of sizing a man up.

"It takes a long time to learn to psych the guys," she told me, "able to read the guy whe'n he walks into the room. You have to know just when to quit, when he's had enough. And whether or not he wants the bruises, whether or not he even wants the discipline."

Another problem is locating the breaking point. Some men relish screaming for release long before it's reached, while others can't say "uncle" till way past their limit. "You get hung up into a pride thing," Master Charles pointed out. Sadie's method is to give each client a key word—something like his home town, say New York. "If she had you strung up on the cross," Charles explained, "and you couldn't bring yourself to say, 'Stop! Don't do any more,' you might bring yourself to say, 'I haven't done anything like this since I was in New York.' And when you say New York, automatically she knows this is it. Either back off or stop. And so what she does immediately is stop, and then she sizes up the situation and then maybe begins again. And then if she hears New7 York again, she knows it's over."

It's this personalized service that brings Sadie both reputation and pride in her work. She sees each client as special, different, and makes the effort to find out "what it is," what "gets him there." For this reason, there's no "set session" at the dungeon, no established routine. In effect, each visitor creates his own program. "Most of these guys," she said, "you can't just walk into a room and start whaling on them because they say they want to be whaled on. You have to find out what's in back of it, you know? I act kind of like a psychiatrist, 'cause I've learned to psych a guy out and find out just what his problem is and why he en joys this type of thing.

"I've seen guys come in from other places mangled from one end to the other. The ones that want the real heavy discipline, it's very small. It's mostly bondage and the humiliation of it. Some of them want to be spanked, but. they don't want the bruises. Very few guys want bruises."

Sometimes, before she can explain this, a newcomer panics at the sight of all the dungeon's hardware. Many of the torture items are designed by Sadie herself, custom-made to her specifications. Heavy leather restraint devices are a specialty. She has plenty of authentic and hard to find numbers, a twenty-six foot bullwhip, metal-studded wooden torture shoes, a carnival cane for connoisseurs. TVs who lack a wardrobe find a nice selection of undies, nylons and feminine goodies.

If the accouterments of the dungeon are not sufficient to put the client in the mood, inspiring action can be seen on the house projector. Watching dominance films in session is just another customer consideration at the Dungeon. The idea is to please all types, to cater to the widest variety of B&D tastes. Sadie herself is usually enough to put the dominance devotee into the right frame of mind. She looks the part. Leather-booted to the knee, corseted and masked, black- garbed and black-haired, she exemplifies the classic dominatrix.

Then there's that aggressive personality.

"I'm into it. for a psychic reason too," she readily admitted. "I'm into it mostly because it helps me. I've got a hell of a temper, and this helps keep my temper down. And that way I don't take things out on my husband or my kids or anything else."

Master Charles is a lot like her, a dominant himself. This comes in handy when clients ask for a male master.

"We do get guys that want to be spanked by a male dominant," Sadie pointed out. "It's the father-image type thing. There's no sex involved. Most aren't even gay. One of Chuck's regulars is a guy that doesn't undress, doesn't do anything. He just wants an old-fashioned belt spanking. That's all. And when he leaves he's perfectly satisfied. He talks to me, you know. He just doesn't want. it done by me. There's no sexual fantasy in it with him."

"He just gets a spanking from Daddy," Charles interjected. "He comes once a month, maybe twice." For some clients though, sexual release is the rule. "Most of these guys, as soon as they're tied up real tight, it releases them," Sadie observed. "They don't even have to touch themselves."

Sexual contact is taboo. "I have no sex up here whatsoever," Sadie assured me. The popular misconception of the massage parlor leads some men into thinking there's more in store for them at the Dungeon than they can actually get. Charles and Sadie are quick to dispel such notions.

The Dungeon also features three attractive, young girls: Dusirce, Cathy and Mary, respectively redhead, blonde and brunette. All three have masseuse licenses and double in the parlor above. But here is the twist: the girls are submissives, another novelty claimed by the Dungeon.

"A good portion of our business," said Charles, "is the submissive females. We have guys that strip down in the nude to spank the girl, and we have guys who stay fully clothed. We have guys who have no sexual excitement over this. They get no erection. They take no clothes off. They simply rent. the girl and spank them for half an hour, shake her hand, give her a tip and leave.

"No two people are alike, and this is the thing we have to offer that's different from everybody else. We're not a production-line ripoff type business. We relate intellectually and emotionally to the people we serve, and we use as much discretion as possible. We use taste."

It may be this discreet atmosphere that brings women clients to the Dungeon. True, they're outnumbered fifty to one by male clients, but they do come, and more are expected as the idea of dominance parlors becomes better established in society.

"Every woman," Charles noted, "without exception that has gotten into, even just into bondage, has dug it."

Aside from women, the clientele of the Dungeon is remarkable enough. Perhaps it's just Sadie. "I deal mostly with upper-class people," she said. "My clientele is mostly lawyers, doctors, psychiatrists, airplane pilots, people who make a good deal of money. People drive from San Diego, San Francisco, from way up north, Massachusetts, Canada, New York. Hawaii. We've got one guy that flies in from Hawaii, goes into D.C., and on his way over he stops here. Chuck picks him up at. the airport, brings him here. He does his five-hour session here. Chuck takes him back to the airport and he flies on. "I could give you a list a mile long of people you would know of, that have been in the newspapers." "We have quite a few celebrated people," Charles added. "People that are prominent, know each other. We had one very wealthy man here one night and, as he was leaving, another very wealthy man who happens to live in the very same neighborhood—a very exclusive neighborhood—came up the stairs, and as one went down the stairs he said, 'Hi,' and the other said, 'Hi,' and one of them said he'd have to send a bottle of Chivas Regal over to the other one so he wouldn't mention it to his wife because she had a big mouth. He was laughing about it. Neither was nonplussed about seeing the other here."

"You could never get the names out of us," put in Sadie. Confidentiality. She went on to explain how they protect their book of clients, using an elaborate code originated by a former army cryptologist (another client). The rates at. the Dungeon help establish exclusivity. Charles and Sadie will not cut rates, nor advertise specials to bring in customers.

Any form of domination at Sadie's hands cost $30 a half-hour, $50 an hour. Sessions with submissive girls cost $50 a half-hour, $80 for a full sixty minutes. Tips of five and ten dollars are customary. The Dungeon doesn't offer a special low rate for enemas only. Taken as part of a half-hour session, of course, most enemas are available. "The type of enemas I give," Sadie said, "have a blow-up catheter type of thing. And this puts pressure on the prostate which excites them. Every man has a prostate. It's almost the same thing as using the dildoes, except. with the enemas it's a sexual fantasy type thing. When the water is sent. in, it increases the pressure. Blows their cookies.

"Most of these things are from the time they were young.

Something happened from the time they were a child. Either they were in the hospital and they got, several enemas, and it excited them. Or maybe their parents gave them enemas once a week or something like that. And it just. excited them.

And now that they don't, have their mothers around to give them enemas anymore, they come to me. It's just the way they are."

Humiliation is another major service, as important as bondage, discipline, fetishism, TV, and enemas. "Domination is a humiliation of the male ego," Sadie explained. "But when you get right down into tlie realm of humiliation itself, it's things like dressing the guy up as a female, and humiliating him in front of people, making him serve you as a maid. We have guys who get. down on their hands and knees and scrub my floors, or sweep it with hairbrushes and things like that. Humiliation is a lot of different. things."

Perhaps more than any service at the Dungeon, humiliation must be tailored to the needs of the individual. Sadie prides herself on being able to find the key to the satisfaction of any client.. . . without crossing the line into illegality.

"That's mostly what I'm noted for," she said. "The fact that I'm dominant, that I can fulfill anybody's fantasy. I can tease them. I can do anything I want to them. There's no sex involved, and yet they're satisfied."

Sympathy with their clients sometimes turns into genuine compassion, and it's this feeling that underlies the work done at the Dungeon by both Charles and Sadie. The special needs and problems of their clientele are ever on their minds.

"We both feel that this is the last real minority here," Charles said. "And people have a right to do whatever they want to do, as long as it doesn't harm society. And so we simply supply them the service. Actually it's turning out to be not such a small percentage of people. A full ten percent. At least."

"Both men and women," added Sadie.

"When you do a session," said Charles, "there's a relationship between you and the one you're doing the session on, that is much more than what you would have with a doctor or a dentist or something like that. There's an emotional relationship that lasts for this half- hour or this hour. And we make very good friends with some of the people who come here for sessions, And if they don't come for a session each week, at least they stop by to visit."

"Most. dominants are girls that are into it for the money," said Sadie. "They're not in it for the caring end of it."

"They don't bother to equip themselves or develop techniques," Charles added. "We figure that to be in it just for the money is a little too gauche."

For both Charles and Sadie, dominance is more than a business, They are into a private club for B&D devotees. The organization is a growing one, going nationwide, with plans now for a full-service center for members in the L.A. area. In time, Charles and Sadie hope to see the whole dominance scene emerge from its current underground position.

Of course, they also expect the Dungeon to retain its status as a place where every dominance pleasure can be achieved . . . with a personal touch.

Mistress Antoinette reigned over the mystical environment created for her "Dressed to Thrill III" weekend event May 31 thru June 2, 1996 at the Long Beach, California Airport Holiday Inn.

"Dressed to Thrill III" was the largest gathering (in our West Coast history) of fetishists from across the United States and around the world. Each year, Dressed to Thrill is not only larger, but better as well.

This incredible weekend began with a nostalgic presentation by Ms. Antoinette on Friday night at the "Sluts & Goddesses" reception and dance, to the Sunday "Grand Opening" celebration at her new "Dressed to Thrill" store.

This years DTT III began with the vendors area opening to the public at 4 pm on Friday. Vendors came from as far away as Vermont and New York to showcase their unique items.

The finest craftsmanship was displayed in art, leather, paddles, whips, racks, clothing, shoes and boots, masks, videos, furniture, magazines, books, jewelry, wigs and other items too numerous to mention.

The Vendor Area was also a feast for the eyes as Pony Girls were led around, the courtyard, slaves kneeling to their Mistresses and people meeting under the beautiful California sky to renew old friendships and make new ones. Many erotic people were showcased live on the Internet as the DTT III continued throughout the weekend.

Friday at 7 pm the doors opened to the Banquet Hall and at 8 pm the "Sluts & Goddesses" reception began. The attendees were greeted by Ms. Antoinette and her beautiful hostesses. hor'dourves were served and at 10 pm Ms. Antoinette officially commenced the DTT III with a singing performance by Vince Brown, followed by the history of Versatile Fashions, and a touching Memorial to those individuals who had an everlasting impact on many of us and who have departed this life to a higher reward.

Recognition was also given to the dignitaries in attendance. These included: John and Tanya (Club Doma/Holland); Heinz and Anna Marie Gerbig (Eccentric Fashion Show/Switzerland); Mr. and ' Mrs. Richard Day/Scotland; Sue and Allen Boult/EngIand; Mr. Horst Herrmann/Germany; Mr. Peter Franken/New Zealand and Mr. and Mrs. Lehanky/Canada.

The people who attended the reception and dance were beautifully attired to say the least and one could only wonder how they could possibly out-do themselves for the Banquet and Ball on Saturday.

They did!

Saturday, June 1st the Vendors Area once again re-opened to the public and attendees began to, meet, shop, talk, swim in the pool and see and be seen in the Gazebo area between the Main Hall and the Vendors Area.

Around 6 pm the doors opened to admit attendees to the "Feast of All Sinners Banquet" (which was a sold-out event weeks earlier).

The attendees, dressed in fetish and formal attire, made their way into a Ballroom that had been transformed into a Mystic setting, complete with a castle and shimmering table decor.At precisely 7:30 pm the hall lights dimmed and the "Fanfare" was sounded by trumpets and percussion, to alert attendees of the entertainment to follow. Set to an original score by the recording artist "SPIT", the exotic and beautiful "Persephone", dressed in dark purple catsuit,

matching PVC ribbon corset and knee-high 6" heeled boots, ignited the Flame of Dominance.

She rode her shoe-gagged slave Mike down the runway to the delight of those in attendance. Then as the music changed tempo, Mistress Alia, dressed in her black PVC catsuit, worked slave James. As Persephone and Alia commanded their slaves to kneel at the castle entrance, the sultry blonde Mistress Randi, dressed in a lavender PVC catsuit, ordered her slave, the mischievous Sharon, to the catwalk. Then dressed in a white Vamp and a skin tight black catsuit, adult and fetish film stars Miss Kerri Downs and Miss Randi Storm literally took center stage with their lustful wildness! Suddenly the music came to a conclusion and the performers cleared the catwalk as table slaves Jennifer, L. Seven and Steve proceeded down the runway, heralding the much anticipated entrance of our hostess Mistress Antoinette.

To the cheers of one and all, Mistress Antoinette commanded everyone's attention and adoration as she took her place of honor on the runway.

Ms. Antoinette officially welcomed the attendees and was escorted to the head table as the Mistresses placed their slaves under the many tables in the hall to amuse the guests while they enjoyed their banquet. As our guests were enjoying their deserts (and the attention of table slaves) the excitement began again with the appearance of renowned performance artists, "Viva Sex" and "Kiwi".

"Viva Sex's" performance as Madonna would have made the Material Girl envious and "Kiwi" as Grace Jones was right to the tee!

Both of these ladies performed spectacularly and I personally am in lust with both of them! After a short break to allow everyone to catch their breath, the lights dimmed again and all eyes went to center stage. A silver dressing table and chair had appeared and then as the spotlight came on, one of the most beautiful women in the world took center stage.

Immaculate in every detail, and dressed in a gorgeous blue gown manufactured by Versatile for this special performance, the lovely "Dita" performed a special strip tease in honor of our own Mistress Antoinette. For a few minutes at the "Feast of All Sinners Banquet" time was rolled backwards as the art of strip tease was revealed as it was done and should be done.

Artistically and with ultimate class, "Dita" enthralled each and every one present and brought tears to the eyes of her honoree: Mistress Antoinette. I could think of no better way to bring this portion of the night to a close. Then, still touched by Dita's performance, Mistress Antoinette spoke to all in attendance and the attendees joined her in recognizing the Production Staff, Versatile Staff and some of the many volunteers who made DDT III possible.

Mistress Antoinette also recognized her special Guest of Honor, Mr. Bill LaPointe, Founder of Orange County's Blade Magazine.

Special trophies were also presented to Reb Stout and Rick Faulkner as the behind-the-scenes "Work Horses" that made DTT possible. We could never do the amount of detailed work in both pre and post production without the expertise of these men. With Reb doing the publicity, video of the entire event, handling the photographers and Press and Rick helping in the pre-production and the thankless job of Floor Manager and Security for DTT, it was only right they receive credit for all behind-the-scene work that they accomplish in a most professional manner. I will never be able to repay them for the unselfish efforts.

9 pm and the Banquet Hall doors opened to admit the hundreds of attendees to the DTT Ball itself. The Banquet attendees mingled with the Ball attendees and soon the two dance floors were being utilized as the "Dressed to Thrill Ball" got underway.

After about an hour of conversation and dancing it was my honor to introduce to our Ball Goers their Mistress of Ceremonies, the world renowned Performer/Actress/Designer, Miss Sarah Jane Hamilton. Sarah Jane has been a performer and Hostess at each past "Dressed to Thrill", and her lovely form was very appreciated again this year. Full of life and energy, she really knows how to get things going. She is a valued part of our extended Versatile family.

It was with great pleasure Sarah Jane re-introduced the fabulous "Viva Sex" as Annie Lennox and "Kiwi" as "Grace Jones". Again, these two great performers brought the crowd to its feet.

One could feel the electricity in the air as the time approached for the event that was soon to come, the true highlight of this weekend of fun, fantasy and fetish. The 1996 Dressed to Thrill III "Mystic Fashion Show!"

Imagine the mystical castle, thunder and lightning, and the appearance of the Mystic Cats led on leashes by Ms. Antoinette herself as they prowled to the original music of Odyssey, Then the changing of the guards.

Over 140 V.I.P. revelers joined Ms. Antoinette, her honored guests and her staff at breakfast.With balloons waving a beautiful farewell in the breeze and tears in many eyes, we concluded the official schedule of "Dressed to Thrill III".

VR Besides very high-heeled shoes, does Rebecca have any other turn-ons?

RHH Not often anymore. Most of my entertaining is at home with kinky friends that visit for an evening (or weekend) of fetish delights.

VR What do you think makes you stand out above others?

RHH I don't think I "stand out above others"...I just do the things I enjoy when I'm dressed. Many of my scenes have been so wild that the "scenes" themselves stand out.

RHH Performing on stage is a blast, but I've never spoken to a group. My "Reb" personality always does that. VR I know you would never consider SRS, but what about other body modification, such as implants, piercings, or tattoos?

RHH First thing, if they're a TV and feel they are weird, strange or a freak, is to let them know that they are not alone - that there are millions of cross-dressers out there. That you don't lose your "manliness" if you have a desire to put on garters, stockings and high-heels. You're just enjoying a side of yourself that most men do not experience. That there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

If it's a pre or post-op TS, they usually have a different set of problems. Dealing with an ex-wife, a son or daughter. Finding a job, being accepted by their friends, the in's and out's of living in society as a woman.

VR Do you have a final statement for our readers?

RHH I think I've about said it all. Just enjoy yourself, have fun with your dressing and being who you are. That's really it in a nutshell.
