Synopsis

It is Hannah Fitzgerald's 12th birthday. She is spending it with her mother in Las Vegas because her mother forgot that it was her birthday. In a sudden storm of emotion, Hannah runs away from her mother and by the time she clears away the tears, she finds that she is "somewhere else". Though initially, she thinks that she is to be the queen of this strange but fascinating place, she soon finds out that she is subject to the rule of a tyrant toddler, King Max.
