History
The Idea of Hell Fire was formed by David & ED in the Early to Mid 70's. The First Party was at the now defunct Taft Hotel in NYC. (They threw us out - grin)
The Next party was at an E side loft. NYC on E 28th ST.
Then David & Ed took a sublet on the basement at 28 - 9th Ave, NYC. In the late 70's, Hell Fire changed owners & management & remained in operation until Nov 1985. It voluntarily closed in 1985 at the height of the Aids Crisis. At the end of 1986, the Vault opened in the same space. I managed the Vault until it moved to 10th Ave, NYC in 1993 where I managed it until June.
I then went back to 9th Ave where the New Hell Fire opened, and I took over it's management later that year.
Hell Fire operated there till Oct 2002. When we lost our lease, but we are looking for a new venue.
In 2004 we opened Fetish Warehouse / Hell Fire in Brooklyn NY at 117 - 25th ST. It ran until Oct 2005 when we closed.
