Who we are
DarkStone (Dominance And Related Kink in Small Towns Of New England) is a pansexual BDSM group located on the New Hampshire / Vermont Border. Much of our activities take place in the Keene Lebanon areas.
DarkStone was formed to provide education, support, and a safe social venue for those in our area interested in meeting others and/or learning more about the BDSM, Leather, or other alternative lifestyles. We are not a swinging or dating club.
We are largely made of couples, but we also have a number of single members. We range in age from 21 to 70+.
Membership is open to anyone 21 years of age or older, who has an open mind and desires to learn or share in the BDSM and other alternative lifestyles.
Membership is not restricted on the basis of race, sex, language, culture, nation of origin or sexual orientation.
Membership does require face to face meeting with members of the group at open functions. If you wish to become a member, please visit us at our munches and socials.
Our History
This group begin in the late 90's as Leatherbound NorthEast by a small group of people who met in the Keene area.
For reasons that are unimportant here, it was decided that the group needed a new name. PENE - Power Exchange of New England was chosen. Not everyone was happy with the change and for a short while, a few members tried to keep Leatherbound NE going as a seperate group. In the end, Leatherbound NE disbanded and everyone became PENE.
Throughout the groups existance, this group has been run by a board of directors. In late 2002, a couple of board members announced unilaterally that they were closing the group. A majority of the board and membership objected. The group struggled on for a while, but it soon became apparent that the group could not continue on its present course.
In 2003, PENE broke into two groups. The couple who wanted to disband the group has gone one way and reformed thier own group, the remaining board members invited all PENE members to stay together as one group. In an effort to avoid infighting and move on a contest was held to rename the group. DarkstoneDS was chosen by nearly a unanimous vote.
