Hi Wetone,

I think I can say with some certainty that what you're looking for didn't exist. The subject was like a deep, dark secret until the 80's.I'm about 20 years older than you and can remember the blossoming of the Adult Book stores that took place in the late 60's. I was amazed to discover that I wasn't the only guy that had a fetish for female clothing and preferred to wear panties instead of male underwear. Even thru the 70's, when things got kind of loose and crazy, and sexuality was openly discussed in all its variations, there was nothing mentioned about adults wearing diapers. At the time, I was living with a woman that enjoyed my crossdressing and had gotten me to try wearing diapers again. I'd become hooked immediately, but we were of the opinion that I was probably the only person to do that. I was working at the medical school and they had an extensive library on the subject of sexual fetishes. I read everything they had - almost a hundred books and journals -and none of them mentioned adults enjoying diapers, although there were a couple of mentions, brief ones, about infantilism. Even those didn't mention diapers as a componant of the infantilism. Then one weekend my girlfriend and I drove up to Austin to visit with another couple with a crossdressing husband. We were amazed to find they had one bedroom with a playpen, baby bed, and stacks of cloth diapers. I was sure I'd just met the only other guy that liked diapers and he was just as amazed that I liked them too.so the following week, we put an ad in a fetish swingers contact publication requesting that anyone that enjoyed diapers please contact us. The response was nothing short of phenominal. Just like me, every one of those responses stated something to the effect that they thought no one else enjoyed diapers.By this time it was around 1980 and one of the guys that came over from Houston to spend a weekend with us in diapers told us about DPF, a new organization for gay men that enjoyed diapers. At that time, DPF stood for Diaper Pail Fraternity and was an all male group. Their news letter was produced on a mimeograph machine if you're old enough to remember those. They probably still used them when you were in school - I can close my eyes and still remember the aroma of the paper.Any way, DPF, which later became Diaper Pail Friends and opened up to women, was the first to bring awareness to the world of the extent of interest in the AB/DL lifestyle. Along about then the larger Adult Bookstores would occassionally have some AB/DL material as word got around to the **** producers of a possible new market. So I'm thinking that anything you find will probably be from around 1980 or later. I'm sure that's not what you wanted to hear but . . . I only wish that such material did exist earlier and I could have gotten my hands on it. I wouldn't have had to live almost forty years before I found out I wasn't such a freak after all.

Demise

The demise was a long time coming. There are parts of DPF pages that are still active, due to parts still in domain hands of Markie and Tommy till March of 2011. Baby Talk is still active as is Baby Club - BabyClub Login and the famed Roster pages are still active - Untitled Document.

Much like Angela and a few others, my beginning with DPF spanned back to 1980 (40 yrs ago this year) I received one of the first newsletters ever publish. Tommy would type it all up - most likely using one of the first personal Computers - PC's. There wasn't a lot of contribution in the beginning so Tommy didn't see a need to publish it monthly. After typing it up he would take the newsletter and copy it off where he worked at a bank until 1986, then he had to find another way of complying the newsletter.

I don't even know if the bank he worked for knew what he was publishing back then or not.

To me, DPF was a God send for someone like me and anyone else floundering with what is this fascination with diapers? I thought I was alone in it. Back then it was referred to as Diaper Pail Fraternity. as it was started as a group for gay men with a few straight men finding out about it, began joining and participating. Then mommys/wifes and adult baby girls began to join within the first 10 yrs. Then it went from being a "Fraternity" to Diaper Pail Friends

Lots of transitions took place during those 40 years, from basically correspondance with others to the sharing of stories and the selling of AB clothing and the attempt to make the first AB/DL disposable diaper; to eventually producing videos/ tapes in a series of hypnotic tapes for those interested and finally transitioning to the internet. Tommy didn't have the knowledge to be a webmaster so relied on one of it's members to come through who offered to set it up and be the webmaster for Tommy.

Within the last 10/15 yrs Tommy helped to develop regional directors and the advent of munches and special events. I was one of the regional directors. My name appeared quite often in the last few years of publishing the newsletter DPF.

I'd really like to see some sort of history developed, not necessarily regarding DPF but rather how the coming out of the closet of AB/DL's in general. DPF was probably the center of helping that happen - good and bad came of it. At one point the estimation was DPF had impacted approximately 5000 AB/DL or more. Even

A Personal Note from Robin

In the "Hayward Era" of BackDrop (1973/1975) we had a young lady (who was on staff) and her husband who were into Adult baby/Diaper lovers lifestyle. His (or maybe her) mother built a company called Amber Enterprises that sold clothing and supplies to AB/DL people. "Mom and the kids" produced a newsletter called "The Crib Sheet".

The BackDrop Staff hosted quite a few meetings and workshops for adult babies, and several of the Staff did adult baby sessions.

About the same time that SMC spun of from BackDrop, many of the "babies" got together and formed "Diaper Pail Fraternity". They had a Mill Valley, CA (Marin County) address.

I just checked my "Greatest Hits of the BackDrop Club" CD and found A LOT of info on AB/DL topics
