Destined for cult status, this provocative thriller offers a grab bag of genres (gangster movie, comedy, sexy romance, crime caper) and tops it all off with steamy passion between lesbian ex-con Corky (Gina Gershon) and a not-so-ditzy gun moll named Violet (Jennifer Tilly), who meets Corky and immediately tires of her mobster boyfriend (Joe Pantoliano). Desperate to break away from the Mob's influence and live happily ever after, the daring dames hatch a plot to steal $2 million of Mafia money. Their scheme runs into a series of escalating complications, until their very survival depends on split-second timing and criminal ingenuity. Simultaneously violent, funny, and suspenseful, Bound is sure to test your tolerance for bloodshed, but the film is crafted with such undeniable skill that several critics (including Roger Ebert) placed it on their top-ten lists for 1996.

Goofs

  • Continuity: When Violet is sitting up in bed after her tryst with Corky, she has just one shoulder strap in place. As the scene progresses, the strap jumps from her left shoulder to her right shoulder and back again. In the same scene, Corky's hair is (not) behind her ear, and the sheet covering Violet changes with the camera angle.
  • Continuity: When Corky drinks coffee there is one tattooed triangle on her right hand. When she is opening the case there is two. When she dumps the money in the paint there is one again.
  • Continuity: When Caesar finds Violet with the telephone in her hand, she is wearing a leather jacket. When he throws her on the bed she is not wearing the jacket. When she stands up it is back on again.
  • Factual errors: After Johnnie has been killed he closes his eyes as Caesar pushes his face.
  • Continuity: Caesar takes off his tie too quickly.
  • Continuity: Directly after Caesar threatens to cut off Violet's finger, his thumb is alternately on/off the hammer of his gun between shots.
  • Revealing mistakes: When Corky goes after Caesar with the wrench, her hands are clean despite having carried the two bags of money which were covered in white paint.
  • Crew or equipment visible: In the standard format home version, when Cesar first comes home and meets Corky, you can see Corky's "mark" on the floor. Even in the widescreen format, you can see her look down at it before she stands at her place for the scene.
  • Continuity: When Corky kicks the gun out of Caesar's hand, she is wearing socks, having removed her paint-stained boots. But as she follows through with the kick, she is wearing boots.
  • Continuity: When Corky is fixing the sink, Violet's legs are visible, and they change from black hose to no (or nude) hose then back between shots.
  • Revealing mistakes: When Caesar is yelling in the face of the dead body of Johnnie Caesar, he puts his hand in Johnnie's face. When he does this the dead body clearly blinks.
  • Crew or equipment visible: When Violet shoots Caesar, he falls backwards in the paint. As he hits the floor, you can see a wire attached to his left pant leg. This wire is used by the special effects crew to set off the gunshots ripping through Caesar's shirt. You can also see the wire outline in the paint on the floor just before and after Caesar hits the floor.
