This particular book is a list of women the author claims to have employed in various capacities, together with notes on their peculiarities, tastes, and so forth. The author provides 'An Explanation' : 'My business is hiring out women to model dresses, pose for artists, and make with the torso at expensive dinner parties where all the guests are men and few of them are any damn good. I keep two card indexes of the girls who work for me. A 3" x 5" card for such vital employment information as the young lady's name, address, telephone, and social security number, her measurements, and the modeling she is best suited for. On a much larger card, I keep a record of those of my models with whom I have achieved intimacy. Here I record if she was any good when she reached me and how it happened if she wasn't (sic). I compare her relations with other men to her relations with me. I record why she left me and what became of her. It is of the information on these larger cards that this book was composed.' but the author's name is given in a Ms note at the top left-hand corner of the front paste-down endpaper by G. Legman, who notes also that the work was banned in USA by legal action.
