AnonIB (defunct) was a website that hosted various imageboards. The site was especially known for pornography, anime, and hentai.

AnonIB (which stood for "Anonymous ImageBoard") was first established in May 2006 by Alphabet, an ex-4channer. It quickly gained popularity, but Alphabet could not manage the bandwidth costs and in in March, 2008, handed the site over to online pornographers Mindpoop and GOA.

AnonIB experienced major problems such as spam, malware, and viruses. It also suffered from significant downtime, sometimes caused by bandwidth issues and at other times caused by complaints of child pornography and other illegal activities, forcing the site to be shut down in April 2008 and several times after. The site's servers were allegedly seized by the FBI. In August 2009, the site was hacked into. In 2010, the site experienced repeated downtimes, as of 2011, it is still down.

AnonIB used the domains:

  • anonib.org
  • anonib.com

AnonIB hosted Fanime Imageboard: Spanking and Shoujo Imageboard.

ImageBoard4Free

Another website offering similar services (though otherwise unrelated), known as ImageBoard4Free, or IB4F, was created during one of the lengthy downtimes of AnonIB. It hosted a similar series of boards and followed a similar life cycle, ending in much the same manner as AnonIB. Unlike AnonIB, however, any IB4F URL redirects to a downtime notice. Infinitus, the site's creator, states his desire to revive IB4F in some capacity after software and moderation improvements. The site's last update was made on November 16, 2010.
