Here's another Infrequent Announcement (tm) of the Portland Burgermunches.

If you're in the NW Oregon, SW Washington area, or are planning to be in the Portland area on a future Wed. night, this notice should be of interest to you. We have a long-standing regular (weekly) burger munch here in Portland, in the finest traditions of alt.sex.bondage. All are welcome, whether they have Internet access or not. The PDX munch has become a rallying point for kinky folk in general, regardless of the level of computer interest.

Even if you feel you're a 'newbie', you should drop by and check us out.

With the influx of new people that we've experienced this past summer, rest assured that you won't be isolated and ignored by many old friends having a reunion. Nor will you find that it's homogenously 'not my kinda crowd'. There's a little of everything here.

We're usually in the back of the place at the long picnic table just opposite the bar. As usual, this isn't a show-and-tell for the latest in alt.gear, and we tend to try to be discreet about showing off toys and stuff, though an occasional collar has been fashionably worn with no noticeable effect on the waitstaff or other customers.

The usual gruesome details are:

  • When: Every Wednesday approx. 7 PM until we leave (9 or 10 or ??)
  • Where: Blue Moon Tavern, 432 NW 21st (at Glisan) Portland
  • Why: Why not?
  • Who: You, and anybody else you think might be interested
  • RSVP: Not necessary

What's a burgermunch? Well, *the* burgermunch was a bay area gathering of alt.sex.bondage types. It's a way for people to get together and meet each other in a friendly, non-play environment. This is similar, only it isn't in the bay area. :-)

The Blue Moon Tavern is on NW 21st, about four blocks north of Burnside.

We'll try to always (sometimes? umm, more like 'on rare occasion') have a black balloon or two on our table, but if not, look at one of the long tables near the bar. Or, just ask a waiter which group is the regular Wed. night group. That'll be us.

For those interested, there's also a pdx-asb mailing list (fairly low volume of activity, but a good way to keep in touch with what's happening in PDX and the Pacific Northwest). To join, send mail to pdx-asb-request@agora.rdrop.com. Please state in your mail that you're 18 or over. (For those outside the area, pdx is the airport symbol for Portland, Oregon.)
