The Enterprise City School District is a public school district based in the city of Enterprise, Alabama.

There is one High School (Enterprise High School), three Junior High Schools (Enterprise, Coppinville and Dauphin), and six elementary schools.

The High School has about 1,500 students and serves grades 10 through 12. It has excellent parent reviews.

According to federal statistics, about 1,600 students were paddled in this school district in 2004-2005, which was 29% of the total student population.

Enterprise City Schools states that paddling is used "when it is deemed beneficial that the student involved be allowed to return to a class or in other cases where it serves the best interests of the student". Parents need not be consulted: "The school does not seek the permission of parents before disciplining".

At Dauphin Junior High, students may choose between being spanked (2 licks) and 2 hours' detention for a fourth tardy in one semester, and for a second dress code violation. On the fifth unexcused tardy, and also for a first offense of using a cell phone or a third dress code violation, the student may opt for either 3 licks or 3 hours' detention. CP may also be used for disrespect, smoking, sexual harassment, misbehavior on the bus, gambling, public displays of affection, threats, and possession of obscene literature, among other things; in these cases it is not made clear whether the student gets to choose his or her punishment.

The Senior High School handbook mentions corporal punishment extensively. It "shall be used by an administrator in those cases where the offense does not warrant suspension but should not go uncorrected". It is one of the penalties for skipping class. For a fourth tardy to school or a second dress code violation, students receive 2 licks or two hours in detention. For a fifth tardy or a third dress code violation, the penalty is three licks or 3 hours' detention. Spankings may also be administered for displays of affection, sexual harassment, minor parking/driving offenses, fighting, bullying, loitering in parking lots, profanity, gambling, littering, and "general misbehavior". Parents may apply in writing to request exemption from CP, whereupon the student will be suspended instead.

In 2006 a new district policy was added, providing spanking for the use of cell phones.
