Reality Kings is an American online adult film production company based in Miami Beach, Florida.

History

The network was launched in 2000 with its first adult site, cumfiesta.com. Other brands followed, including milfhunter.com, captainstabbin.com, 8thstreetlatinas.com, and roundandbrown.com. Since its inception, Reality Kings has created a network of websites with various genres.

In September 2012, the Canadian conglomerate MindGeek , formerly designated Manwin, acquired the website, later becoming part of the space created on Pornhub.

Controversies

In 2010, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) filed a lawsuit against Reality Kings, which became known as the FAMU Sex Tape. The lawsuit alleged that the company tarnished the university's reputation due to a video depicting eight performers that Reality Kings' affiliate site, DareDorm, described as FAMU students performing sexual acts on each other. The university also sued the performers themselves. Although Reality Kings announced its intention to fight the lawsuit, less than a month later, it settled the case and paid the university $120,000 in damages. In 2011, Reality Kings filed a motion to dismiss a lawsuit filed by a woman who claimed the company featured her runaway underage daughter in a porn film. Reality Kings, in its motion to dismiss, said it was fraudulently deceived because the daughter misrepresented her age not only to Reality Kings but to several state and federal agencies.
