Before her days as a burlesque dancer, Dorian Dennis obtained her Bachelor of Science degree (in pre-med Chemistry) from New York University.

In the early 1950s, she began modeling for Men's magazines, as well as for the controversial fetish photographer Irving Klaw. Dorian began stripping in 1953 and eventually became one of the top 15 exotic dancers in the country. Dorian Dennis, also known as "Dee Dee" or "Double Dynamite," was a prominent figure in the burlesque scene, particularly in the 1950s. Best known for her "Dennis Twist" routine, where she undressed while spinning on one foot. She was a dancer at Minsky's Burlesque, a showgirl at the Havana Madrid, and she traveled the U.S. and England.

She retired from the world of stripping and burlesque in 1969 before her death of cancer at age 46.
